Lucie Müllerová

Lucie Müllerová was born in Český Krumlov (Czech Republic), on the 17th of November 1977. After the studies at the University of Art and Design of Linz, in Austria (graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts in 2002) she attended courses of illustrations in Sármede (Italy) held by Jindra Čapek in 2003 and by Linda Wolfsgruber in 2004. In the same year came out her first book – „Fips hat Geburtstag. Eine Geschichte aus dem Goldenen Gässchen.“ (by VITALIS-Verlag of Prague).
The collaboration with the publishing house VITALIS continued until 2009. To mention is that the title Märchen, Sagen und Legenden - one of the series of books made for the collection Märchenreich - was declared as the Children’s Book of the Month August 2005 by German Accademy of Children’s Literature of Nottuln (Germany).
She also has published with foreign companies like FATATRAC and KITE Edizioni in Italy,  and with OQO Editora, EDELVIVES and MIL Y UN CUENTOS in Spain. In 2009 she was awarded first prize at the 4th International Competition of Illustrated Tales Biblioteca Insular (Cabildo de Gran Canaria) for the project Un loro en mi granja realized in collaboration with Pep Bruno and, won first prize at Premio di letteratura per i ragazzi "Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cento" with her illustrations from the book Alfio e le scatole misteriose, in 2010
She was awarded first prize at II Premio Internacional Álbum Ilustrado 2013 EDELVIVES<7em> for her book project El barco volante y los personajes estrafalarios, made in collaboration with Serenella Quarello.
Her work has been shown in group exhibitions like Le immagini della Fantasia organized by the International Exhibition Foundation of Children’s Book Illustration in Sármede (Italy) in years 2007 and 2008 and 2010, Im Reich der Phantasie VII at Mindelheimer Museen of Mindelheim (Germany) in 2010 or IlluStrabilia '09 organized by Artelier of Padova (Italy) in 2009.
She also has worked on didactic projects for children of elementary schools, collaborating with the National Institut of Historical Monument Care of České Budějovice in the years 2007- 2010.

At present she lives and works as a free-lance illustrator in Italy.
